Renaldo’s Apple Strudel & Pastries
Founded in 1999, Renaldo’s Apple Strudel & Pastries is named after Chef Renaldo who perfect the unique recipe for its founder. Freddie Deng, the founder of Renaldo’s, saw a business opportunity when he noticed that Singaporeans returning from Perth were hand-carrying boxes of the famous Perth apple strudels. The enterprising Australian Chinese decided to introduce the famed Australian-style apple strudel to Singapore and opened the first Renaldo’s Apple Strudel & Pastries at Eastwood Centre.
In anticipation of the local taste preference, the apple strudel was made less sweet and creamy, which became a big hit and gained a popular following with both Singaporeans and foreigners alike. Over the past decade, the unique flavours for Renaldo’s apple strudel has inspired the creation of other popular local flavours such as durian and mango strudel. Today, the menu has grown to include eclaires, horns, puffs and savoury items such as pies and homemade sandwiches.
In 2008, Renaldo’s Group was bought over by Jazz Lee, who left her day job in the beauty industry to manage the business. Jazz explains her winning formula, “We place a strong emphasis on quality ingredients and the freshness of our products. At the same time, we continue to innovate and experiment with new flavours and variations to offer authentic Australian-inspired pastries, tailored to suit the Asian palate.”
What sets Renaldo’s Apple Studenl & Pastries apart from the rest is that every strudel and pastry is baked fresh daily to satisfy the most discerning pastry lover. Together with its generous filings of fresh fruit, custard and cream, Renaldo’s strudels are simply irresistable!
